기독교복음선교회(일명 JMS)측은 8월20일자 보도자료에서 “JMS 교인들은 20일 일요일 오후 4시 9번째 집회를 위해 서울 시청대로에 모인다”고 밝혔다. 집회 주관측은 이 집회에 5만여 명이 운집할 것이라고 주장했다.
기독교복음선교회(일명 JMS) 교인협의회 관계자는 “지난 3월 OTT 영상물 ‘나는 신이다-JMS편’ 상영 이후 확산된 여론에 의해 수만 명의 교인들이 엄청난 물질적•정신적 피해를 입었다. 그런데 이 영상물의 제작사는 대역배우를 성 피해자로 허위 표기한 사실이 드러났고, 방영된 녹취파일을 권위 있는 포렌식 음성분석기관에서 분석 결과 편집된 흔적을 확인했다”고 전했다.
이어 “기독교복음선교회(일명 JMS) 정명석 목사 재판의 고소인은 핵심증거인 녹음파일 원본이 들어있는 핸드폰을 팔았다 하고, 수사관은 복사본조차도 실수로 삭제했다고 하는 등 조작의혹이 있는데도 재판부는 포렌식 정밀분석을 위한 증거CD등사요청을 받아들이지 않았고, 잇따른 예단 발언으로 불공평한 재판 진행을 하고 있다. 부디 증거조작을 밝혀내서 공정한 재판을 하기 바란다”고 강조했다.
